Still, I’m sure there are a lot of people who don’t know what they can earn from this. This post is for them, but it’s also for you if you’re already a blogger and you’re not aware of all the benefits you can get from it. 😉
Here is why you should start your own blog today!
1. Easy & Fun
Most people use social media to write their opinions but they believe it’s hard to start your own blog. I blame it to the fear of the unknown.
And blogging is fun! You can blog about whatever you want; a hobby you like, something you’re interested in or something you just started and you want to record your progress. If you have something you love, why not write about it? It’s free and the time you spend to write your posts is time you use talking about something you love. What’s better than this, huh?
2. Meeting New People
So how amazing is to find acceptance from people who understand exactly what you’re going through? No judging from them. You know why? Because they have gone through it themselves!
Blogging gives you the chance to meet people with similar interests and talk with them about these. Nothing better than having people to talk about your passion! 😉
3. Promoting Your Work
It’s also a cool way to let your fans/customers/audience communicate with you. You’re going to be a lot closer to them than if they have to send a mail to get an answer to a simple question. Plus, you can share with them what you’re working on at the moment. Or ask their opinions about current or future projects and interact with them directly and – the most important – fast.
When someone asks for your work, you have something to show for it. Something that looks professional because it’s out there for the whole world to see. And you can grow your blog into your own business. Yes, you can make it into a business. It’ll take time, but you can definitely do it if you don’t give up!
4. Helping Others
Wouldn’t you wish to have someone to guide you? To give you advice when you don’t have anyone who has gone through what you are going through now? I’d say yes. Then why not be this person for thousands of others? Why not help them if you can?
You don’t have to be perfect to give some solid advice. You just have to understand the problem and want to help. Not so hard, right?
5. Make It Into A Business
A lot of people don’t know this that but you can make money through blogging. It takes a decent amount of time, but I believe it’s worth it.
- You can work from anywhere. Maybe from your home or from a beach on the other side of the world. Well, you do need an Internet connection, but my point stands!
- You have your own business. You don’t have to live on a salary. That means that financially, the sky’s the limit!
- You’re the boss. You won’t have anyone to tell you what to do and when to work. You can work any time you want and however you want.
So how about you stop procrastinating and start your blog today?
6. Improve Your Skills
A lot!
And not only your writing skills. You can communicate better, talk more easily to other people and learn how to focus effectively. Not bad, huh?
7. And What If You Fail?
Well, if you failed, you failed. It’s no big deal. Not the first time, not the last… 😉
How I Started
Next time, it was while my friends and I were shooting a short movie – don’t ask…
A year ago though, I read about Wealthy Affiliate and I thought to try it out. To try and make blogging a full-time job. For all of the reasons I wrote above and then some. 🙂
[Check out the whole story if you want!]
And guess what? It actually works, so yeah, if you think blogging is for you, just try it out. After all, what do you have to lose?
Final Thoughts
These are the reasons I believe everyone should start blogging. It has a lot of benefits, and the only real disadvantage is that you may get bored and give up.
Well, at least you know you tried, right? So start your blog now!
Let me know if you think anything that should be on the pros and cons list and, if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer! Any suggestions are always welcome, so tell me about topics you’d like me to write.
And if you liked this, check out some tips about blogging.
See you next time!
Blogging is fun and interesting. To me, it is the most easiest work in the universe since all I need to do is to write something I feel about my area of interest and overtime, make money doing it. Though not everyone shares the ideas with me as others see it as a cumbersome task. Being easy doesn’t mean one would not fail. I have failed up to six times while trying to blog but each time I quit and get back, I do it more better. The reasons you stated up here are spot on. The benefits of blogging however, surpasses all other reasons or disadvantages associated with blogging.
Many of the points you have highlighted in your blog really resonate with me as I find a lot of fulfillment in writing online and helping others. I find the posts easy to write when you have a real interest in the topic and it is not just one you think others want to read about.
I have recently had a bought of writer’s block and was not motivated to write for a few weeks. Do you have any tips on rekindling the want to write?
Rich
1. Take a break.
2. Go back to older posts for inspiration.
3. Think about why you started your blog.
4. Change the place you usually work. A little change is great for getting inspired.
5. Don’t aim for perfection. Just write what you want to say to your readers.
You hit the nail right on head for me! I used to be scared to write, and I learned that the more you write, the better you get. And I have failed at least 5 times, I’m starting again now, and hopefully this will be my moment. I didn’t believe I had to anything to write about in the past, but now I know that wasn’t true. There’s plenty to write about, and I’m not scare to write anymore! Great post and I wish all the best for you!
I’m sure this will be your moment. These “failures” have taught you a lot of things!
All the best to you, too!
Good Morning Jenny,
You are right, reading your post I agree with you. Blogging is great and having 2 websites is like having a window open to the world. I write about my interests and also about things which worry or upset me. Our world is full of these type of things especially related to the environment.
Regards, Taetske
Yes, you can share with the world anything you want. 🙂
You are soooo right when you say that everyone loves sharing their thoughts, ideals and opinions in posts on many different social media sites, particularly Facebook and Instagram. It blows my brain thinking about it, that they don’t blog about those very things they are talking about, and monetise it.
Though I guess that’s how I started, writing on facebook until someone said to me “why don’t you start a website and write an actual blog?”.. and I said “Duh! Because I wouldn’t know how to do a website”. Introduce Wealthy Affiliate, and I couldn’t believe that within minutes I had my first website up and rolling!
Wow! Another passionate blogger. Thanks for commenting!
I started a blog about a year ago and lost interest after a couple of months. I picked it up again about 6 months ago with a more positive mindset and have found that I really enjoy doing it.
I have found myself at your site before so this time I went ahead and had a look around. All of your work is some of the best I have found online. It really feels like a friend is telling you about something when I read your blogs.
You have some really awesome visual elements that really pulled me in. Where do you find your media? Does it cost a lot? It is super high-quality stuff.
Truthfully I am very envious of your site, good job.
Thank you very much! Most of my images are from Canva. It has some beautiful images for free.
