2020 is here!
Or it’ll be soon, anyway. It depends on when you read this post.
New year, new beginnings, right? There’s something wonderful that comes with the new year. You can leave everything behind and look forward, look at the future.
What happened until now, it’s over. It’s not worth regretting it, because you can’t change anything. What you can change is what happens from now on. So leave everything behind and move on. Yes, it’s easier said than done, but it’s worth it.
Let’s start the new year with a few January blog post ideas for your site!
1. New Year – Write The Story About How You Started
Share your story. How did you get started with this industry? With this blog?
2. How To Create Your Own Planner
It’s pretty easy to buy a planner. But no matter how good – or expensive – the planner is, it probably won’t be as good as the one you’ll make. Because when you make your own planner, you can make it exactly how you want so it’ll be the best for you and for your business.
So make a planner and share it with your readers. Tell them how you made it because they may want to do it themselves. Or they may want to use yours and customise it to their needs. So if you’re okay with that, share it with them.
For example, check out mine for the rest of 2019 [Updated For 2020!]. I’ll update it for 2020. 🙂
3. Best Planners For 2020
Since I make my own planner, I don’t recommend people to buy theirs, but maybe some want to save time.
Make a list of the planners you believe they’re the most useful for someone in your niche.
4. World Braille Day
January 4th is World Braille Day. Write about it!
5. Habits/Skills To Start In 2020
Most people make a few New Year resolutions these days. Most of them won’t be able to keep them, but that’s a topic for another day.
Make a list of habits you believe they’re important and find ways your readers can make them a habit and not give them up after a few days.
6. Winter Hacks
Do you know any good winter hacks? Great!
Share it with the rest of the world. For example, something you can do in winter – if you live in a country where the winter is cold enough – is to leave your vegetables at your balcony so that you have more space in your fridge.
7. Top 10 Winter Gifts
What are the top 10 gifts you’d give to someone in winter?
Could be clothing, could be decorations, even a ski trip. Okay, no one actually gifts ski trips, but you get my point. There are plenty of things you can write about.
8. 5 Personal Goals You Have Set For 2020
What are the top 5 goals you have set for 2020? Write about them. Help your readers get to know you and maybe help you on your journey.
I’m sure a lot of them want the same things. And if you make the journey together, you can keep each other accountable.
9. 5 Goals For Your Blog Or Your Business In 2020
Write your professional goals for this year. These are definitely goals your readers will be interested in since you’re in the same field.
10. Seminars/Courses You Should Attend In 2020
Write about seminars, courses or conferences in your niche that will happen in 2020.
It doesn’t matter where they’ll happen; just when. You never know who might read your post. Plus, some people may be interested enough in a conference they’ll be willing to go wherever it’ll happen so that they can attend.
I’m sure that most – if not all – of the courses will be online, so anyone will be able to watch them.
11. World Records In Your Industry
Get a Guinness World Records books and search if there are world records about your industry. You’ll probably find a few weird ones to laugh at or admire!
For example, did you know that the number of the most consecutive daily personal video blogs posted on Youtube are 3,653? We’re talking about 10 years!
12. Tips To Become An Expert
Share your best tips on how someone can become an expert in this industry. You can also share books, videos, courses or any other resources you deem necessary.
13. Journal a Journey
Choose one thing you want to master in 2020 (habit, course, skill, etc.) and write every week about it throughout the whole year. You can write about:
- the progress
- projects about it
- what you’ve done so far
- what you’ve failed so far
- how you plan to advance from now on, etc.
14. Events & Festivals Around The World
What events and/or festivals in your industry will happen in 2020? And where will they happen? Give all the details for someone who would like to attend them.
15. How To Deal With Cabin Fever
Winter is a great season, but it can be kind of boring sometimes. Not a lot of light, so we stay a lot inside. How can we avoid cabin fever?
16. Winter Sports
What sports can you do in winter? You can write about sports you can do exclusively in winter – or when there’s snow, anyway – or sports you can do all year round.
17. Tips For Building The Perfect Snowman
On a lighter note, how about building a snowman? It’s a great activity to do at any age.
18. What If You Could Go Back…?
What would you change if you could live the last few years all over again? Write about it.
Regretting doesn’t help anyone but going back makes you focus on what you really want to do in your life. Explain these to your readers and ask them what they would change in their life. And why don’t they start now?
Why don’t YOU start now?
19. Life-Changing Decisions
What decisions do you believe they were important in your life? Can you imagine – or do you want to – what would happen if you’d choose otherwise?
20. Values
What do you stand up for and how did these values change over the years? What is the one value you believe it defines you?
