How To Make A Voice Over For A Video With Animaker Voice (For Free!)

Well, if you haven’t, you should! More and more people watch videos every day and you should start developing your own audience. And if what stops you is getting a voice over for your videos, then this post is for you.

You want to make a screencast video or an animated video, and you don’t want to use your own voice?

No problem! I’ll show you here how to make a voice over for a video using Animaker Voice. You can use it for free and you don’t even have to download anything. It’s online!

Let’s start from the beginning.

Step 1: Get the Script

The first thing you need to do is to write the text you want to turn into speech. Make sure you have included everything you want to say on the video.

After writing the script, there are two ways to go about it:

First, Record the Video

This way, you’ll record the video first and then, you’ll make the voice over.

• You know how long the video lasts, so you can calculate when you say what.
• But, if you end up to want to say more than the video allows you, you’ll have either to edit the video or record it again.

First, Make the Voice Over

This way, you’ll create the voice over and then you’ll record the video.

• You’ll have the voice over to lead you through your actions.
• You have to go back and forth to fix any time issues on the voice over.

It’s up to you which way you choose. Try them both and see how it works better for you.

When it’s time to create your voice over, write or copy-paste the script on Animaker Voice.

Step 2: Decide on your Character

On the second step, you should choose the character you want to use. First, choose the language you’ll use, then, the gender and then choose the character from the available options.

Language

Here are your languages options for now:

• US English
• Japanese
• Turkish
• Swedish
• Russian
• Romanian
• Portuguese
• Brazilian Portuguese
• Polish
• Dutch
• Korean
• Norwegian
• Italian
• Icelandic

• Canadian French

Gender

You can use a male or a female voice for your voice over, but in a few languages, you have only one of the options available.

Character

I like the fact that each character has a different name. It’s way better to remember you’ve used Salli’s voice than Voice No. 2.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of character options – except in US English. It’s still a Beta Version, though, so I believe they’ll add more in the future.

Step 3: Fine-Tune your Voice

Adjust the speed, pitch and the volume of the character you selected to get the result you want.

Speed

Change the speed to make the character talk slower or faster.

Available Options:

• Default
• X-Slow
• Slow
• Medium
• Fast
• X-Fast

Pitch

Change the pitch to make the character talk lower or higher.

Available Options:

• Default
• X-Low
• Low
• Medium
• High
• X-High

Volume

Change the volume to make the character talk louder or softer.

Available Options:

• Default
• X-Soft
• Soft
• Medium
• Loud
• X-Loud

Reset

To reset your settings for a paragraph, click on the Options button at the start of the paragraph and click on Reset.

Step 4: Words

If you need, you can add some effects on the words.

Whisper

To turn some or all of the voice over into a whisper, click on the Options button at the start of the paragraph and check Whisper.

Emphasis

To give more or less emphasis in a word, double-click on the word and change the emphasis of the word.

Available Options:

• Default
• Reduced
• Moderate
• Strong

Step 5: Breaks

Breaks

You can set each break from 0 up to 3 seconds.

To create a bigger pause, use multiple breaks. For example, if you need a 7-second pause, put 3 spaces and set the first two on 3 seconds and the third one, on 1 second.

Breaths

To make the voice over seem more realistic, you can add some breaths on the breaks.

Available Options for Volume:

• Default
• Low
• Medium
• High

Available Options for Duration:

• Default
• Low
• Medium
• High

Step 6: Check your Work

If you want to hear how your work goes so far, you can check out the result any time you want.

Playback a Paragraph

To playback only a paragraph, click on the Options button at the start of the paragraph and click on the Play button.

Playback the Whole Text

To hear the whole text, click on the Play button under the Character options.

Step 7: Download your Voice Over

Have you finished? Well, now it’s time to get the audio file. Click on the Download button, and make sure that you have finished for sure because you have only 5 free downloads per month.

Upgrade Options

If you need more than 5 downloads per month, you can upgrade to a Premium Plan.

• Free: 5 Voice Downloads/Month
• Personal: 20 Voice Downloads/Month
• Startup: 40 Voice Downloads/Month
• Business: 100 Voice Downloads/Month
• Enterprise: 100+ Voice Downloads/Month
