Need a gift for a blogger?
Or maybe, you are a blogger and you want a gift for yourself. In any case, let me give you some gift ideas for bloggers, that will blow your mind! Some of them are practical, some of them are funny, some are both. But all of them are AWESOME!
I’ll give you a lot of options to choose from, but who said that finding the perfect gift is easy?
Planning is one of the keys to success. So if your friend has started their own blog, what’s a better gift than giving them a hand to succeed?
That’s why my first suggestion is to get them an awesome planner, so they can track down their progress.
The best I found on Amazon is this one: EPIC BLOG: One-Year Editorial Planner, but of course, there are a lot of other options to choose from.
Another good idea is a whiteboard. It’s very useful for planning. I use mine mostly to plan my posts, but also for brainstorming.
2. Mug / T-shirt
But not just any mug. Not just any T-shirt.
Find a funny quote about bloggers and print it on your gift. Aim for inspiration, humour or, if possible, for both. Here are some suggestions:
- You Realise this will End up in my Blog, Right?
- You Should be Writing!
- Blog what you Live, Don’t live to Blog!
- Crime doesn’t Pay, Advertisers do!
- An article a day keeps the Traffic Drop away!
- Don’t Drink and Blog!
- Writer’s Block: When you’re imaginary friends won’t talk to you
- I Live to Blog!
- Keep Calm and Blog on!
- Eat. Sleep. Blog. Repeat.
- Don’t judge a Blog by its Layout!
- Warning: Anything you say will End up Misquoted in my Blog!
- Success is Creating a Life You Don’t Need a Vacation from!
- Careful or you’ll End up on my next Post!
- Just a Blogger who loves (add something your friend likes. For example, I could add cats, surfing, etc.)
- World’s Greatest Blogger
- A Day without Blogging PROBABLY wouldn’t Kill me. But why Risk it?
- I only did it to get Likes.
- I had a Life, but my Blogger job ate it
- I’m the PsycHOTic Blogger everyone Warned you about
I highlighted the ones I like the most. I’d love to have a T-shirt or a mug with them and I’m sure your friend will like them, too.
3. Affiliate Marketing Courses
Beginner bloggers have absolutely no idea how to promote or monetise their site. How to get more visitors or how to improve their blog. And that’s not a bad thing. No one knew when they started. But what if you could help them with it?
When I started, I found out about an online platform that had training about all these. It’s free to join, but they have a premium membership. So how about gifting them with the means to improve their blog? They’ll love you for that!
And since I was talking about training, what do you say about other courses?
If they want to start having their own photos on their blog, you could gift them a photography course.
And what about drawing? Maybe they want to use their own designs, their own graphics on their blog. They could even make their logo on their own. How cool would that be?
Image editing is a must these days. But Photoshop has a lot of hidden secrets and techniques. Find a good course so that your friend learns to create great images!
And what about videos? According to EverySecond, there are 1,384,359 video views every 30 seconds on Youtube. Lots of bloggers benefit from them. Help your friend be the next one!
If you’re searching for online courses, Udemy has a lot of courses at great prices, so check out if there’s something your friend would like.
5. Branded With Their Brand
Create something with their logo. It could be a T-shirt, business cards, stickers, pens, etc. Just make sure they don’t have already some and try to use their brand colours. If you don’t know about them, you can ask them or get them from their logo or their site. Most bloggers use their brand colours again and again for consistency.
Get their logo from their blog and check out the quality. If you think about making a T-shirt, it has to be a high-quality image.
If you want to create business cards, check out Canva. It’s a free online tool for creating images and it has ready templates you can use for making business cards.
Something else you can get to your friend is equipment for their videos. A camera or a microphone would be first on my list if they want to start filming themselves. Lights would be another option.
Does your friend have a good theme for their blog? If they haven’t, maybe you could get them one. But this gift, you can’t keep it a surprise. You should ask them which one they prefer.
If you don’t know where to start looking for, I’d recommend StudioPress. They have fantastic themes, great support, and you can buy a theme once and use it on a lot of sites.
Another great gift is books. I love reading so that would be awesome for me, but not so good for someone who doesn’t like reading.
But if your friend likes reading, here are some books I recommend:
- The 4-Hour Workweek
- The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People
- Emotional Intelligence 2.0
9. A Good Ergonomic Chair
If you’re working on hours on your laptop, you should have an ergonomic office chair. Taking care of your health is very important. It’s also something that we don’t think about until there’s something wrong.
So think of your friend’s health and buy them an ergonomic chair for them. Preferably, in their favourite colour. 🙂
10. Gift Cards
One of the easiest gifts you can get to someone is gift cards. Amazon and Starbucks are the first that come to mind.
Not only they’ll buy anything they want, but they can also use it to get something big. You can contribute with a part of the money and they’ll give the rest of them.
It’s not very thoughtful, though, as a gift, so I wouldn’t choose it if I wanted to give it to a close friend. It’s something I would give to a niece or a nephew, though.
11. Anything Time-Saving
If you’re pretty close to them, gift them your time.
If they have a child, offer to babysit. If they’re students, offer to clean their house once a week, or if they’re close, maybe cook for them. It may seem boring, but it’s practical and something that will truly help them.
Something else you can get to a blogger is software to use for their blog. Here I have some suggestions for great tools I use:
Jaaxy is a keyword tool you can use to find keywords for your posts. If your friend is a blogger and they don’t have a keyword tool, that’s an excellent gift that will make their work easier and their blog more popular.
Animaker is a tool for creating animated videos. If your friend told you that they would like to start making animated videos for their blog, that’s one of the best gifts you could give them. It’s easy to learn using it and you can check it out for free.
Another tool for animated videos you can get is Biteable. It’s free to check out, as well, so it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it. It’s very easy to use and great for beginners.
Photoshop is such a great tool that we have made it into a verb. Every time you edit a photo, what do you do? You photoshop the image. They improve it a lot with every version they release and now, you can do wonders with it.
Voice Recognition Software
Voice Recognition Software allows you to write faster. Why? Because you don’t write, you talk to your microphone and the software writes the words.
The most popular in the market now is Dragon NaturallySpeaking from Nuance. You have to train it so it gets accustomed to your voice, but it’s incredibly useful long-term.
Grammarly is an online tool for grammar and spell check. It comes with the free and a premium version, so even if you don’t decide to take the premium version, you should definitely recommend the free version to your friend – even though, I’m pretty sure they have the free version, already. 🙂
Something that never is enough for a blogger is photos. We always need images for our posts and we need images that we’re allowed to use. So a nice gift would be to find a site with stock photos (Adobe Stock, for example) and get them a subscription.
Let me know what you think about my gift ideas and tell me about more gifts to add on my list. I’ve probably have missed a lot! 😀
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer and if you liked these, then you may start your own blog and who knows? The next gift you’ll get, it may be one of this list.
See you next time!
